Cedar Meadow acted as agent for the sale and export of Chairman. This is believed to be the first time a U.S. bred thoroughbred horse has been shipped to the Republic of Georgia in recent times. CMI has also acted as the agent for the sale and export of two yearlings on behalf of the same interests. UHBDG and CMI are continuing to pursue the acquisition of addition U.S. bloodstock for export to Georgia.

Interest in racing has been peaked in the area by the proposed Spring opening of a new combined casino - race track facility in Baku in Azerbaijan. Baku is a major hub for the oil producing area of the former Soviet republics. In commenting on the recent groundbreaking export, Paul Giardina, President of Cedar Meadow said, "We are pleased and honored to help pioneer the movement of thoroughbreds to the Republic of Georgia and we are looking forwarded to continuing and expanding our relations with interests in that area of the world." CMI is a full service thoroughbred breeding and racing company based in New York State since 1990 when it was founded by its President.

Giardina also commented, "Globalization is raising some very interesting opportunities for American breeders and I believe the U.S. breeding industry will see the benefits of this shortly from this corner of the world."
